ROSE HARTING
Rose Harting sings with soul and depth and invites audiences in to her magical world of love, mermaids, pain and heart ache in her recently released CD, “Fly”. Rose's voice has been described as sounding like honey mixed with thorns, gritty around the edges but soft and delicate within the melodies. She has a fantastic range that goes from ethereal highs to "lost everything" lows.
Rose has expressed herself through music from a very young age: writing songs and singing with her musician father and performing along side her belly-dancing mother.
Rose was raised in Northern California in an eccentric, artistic community focused on creativity. The alternative school she attended encouraged children to sing, dance and learn through art. This philosophy shaped the rest of Rose’s life and continues to run through her veins.
As a young woman, Rose grew tired of singing in cover bands but serendipitously met Chris Vibberts in just such a band. The relationship quickly evolved into a deep friendship and the two began creating music together. Fly is the creation of Rose’s melodies and lyrics and Chris’s phenomenal production, arrangement and musicianship.
Rose has sung the National Anthem at two NBA games in California. She sang in honor of Governor Schwartzenneger in San Francisco in 2007. She performed in Detroit for the 5th annual “Just Let Me Breathe” benefit concert to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis in March of 2008, opening up for Sponge. She toured Paris in the summer of 2007 and with her five piece band in the spring of 2008. While in Paris she was interviewed and performed on the French TV show “Le Couloir de la Night”. She’s been featured in BUST Magazine and The Bohemian/Northbay Metro Magazine. Rose’s vocals have also been featured in the score for the independent film “Bye, Bye Navina”.
