KHELA

Khe Note consists of Bay Area, Vallejo, Ca. native singer/songwriter Khela Campos & from Japan, a fancy fingered guitar player, Kenji Matsui. They met in early 2007 when Khela joined a hip hop-funk-soul band based out of Emeryville, Ca which at that time Kenji was already a member. Soon after meeting & recognizing the skills, Kenji approached Khela with the idea of starting their own duo band and from that they've had much success.

The majority of the music is composed by Kenji and in late 2007, they met and teamed up w/ songwriter Profet of ProfeticLyrics and together Khela & Profet have written many of Khe Note's original lyrics. In July of 08, they added bass player Kevin Corrigan & most recently drummer Moses Walker to give their music more energy, a funkier sound, yet keeping the soul much alive. The songs are soulful, sassy, heartfelt written confessions, storys....some truth...some fiction...
